Since there has been a country wide pandemic of the Coronavirus AKA COVID-19, restaurants and businesses have all been closing. This does not mean that your restaurant or business has to close down permanently without marketing or getting leads. Here are the top 5 questions and tips for the businesses and companies out there that have no idea how to still market or strive during these difficult times.

QUESTION #1: I don’t have delivery or pickup. How can I obtain revenue at this time?
The biggest piece of advice that we can give to all of our restaurant personnel is to adapt to the situation at hand. Push your products and specials on your social media hard and let people around you know they can still get your food, just in a different way. Many restaurants or businesses in the food industry are offering curb-side pick up or take out. You’re also going to have to lean on your network and regular customers too. Tell friends and family you’re offering delivery and pickup so they can post it as well on their social media. Also, be transparent about pickup as opposed to delivery since delivery can cost more. Lastly, offer a logged discount or some other incentive so that people will post about their order on social media and also tag you. Make sure to re-share their posts on stories on Instagram or Facebook as well to help gain more interaction and engagement.
QUESTION #2: Where should I focus my marketing now that everything has changed?
Peer-to-peer marketing is the BEST type of marketing to focus on. If a brand tells me about a new product or dish, you may think, “I have to check that out at some point.” If I see other people posting that product or dish, I will be more inclined to take action. In these unpredictable and unforeseeable times, community endorsement is going to be very crucial to you and your company surviving. Offer incentives as mentioned in the last question and get people talking about your business in a positive way.
QUESTION #3: What are your clients doing to survive?
We’re all thinking long-term. Full transparency, some of our clients have hit pause on their contracts or monthly subscriptions because they want to save money and they are becoming more resourceful with what they have left of their business. Although most companies are looking for long-term recovery, they are also trying to see what they can do for the meantime as well because we all don’t know how long this will last.
With this being said, most of our clients are cutting back on what they are spending due to this pandemic.
QUESTION #4: What kind of content should I post?
You can post your regular content as long as you have this in mind, things will have to slightly be different in terms of most if not all businesses switching to online or taking out. Delivery options at great rates, memes, and feel-good messages. Customers and your audience will always remember those that made them feel great during trying times.
Also, try relating to your customers during these hard times because when people feel like someone else is in the same battle as them, they are more likely to support you. Other than empathizing with your customers, share your story. Show the human side of your business and your company.
The only thing that we here at Gold Level Media would say is to stay away from trying to hard sell, because it will be too forceful at this time.
QUESTION #5: Will my business be okay?

Although we would love to say “yes” in a perfect world, the truth is we all don’t know at a time like this. The only thing that we can recommend to ALL businesses is to stay focused and to prepare.

TIPS ON HOW TO PREPARE:
  • Prepare for 90-days of no income (just in case) and talk to your book keeper to help guide you with financial decisions for projections.
  • Return any inventory that you can for your business and just have the essentials and possibly stock up on those to last you.
  • Remember, hope is not a strategy so it’s a must that you plan for the worst-case scenario.
So, you should definitely prepare for as long as you can for you and your business and hold tight. Hopefully, these top 5 questions and answers will help you and your business out. Lastly, stay optimistic, don’t panic and continue to market your business!
